SAP's Joule Work puts real business context behind every agent action

SAP Joule Work grounds AI agents in business context via its Knowledge Graph and a runtime policy gateway. FactuaOS runs the same wiring with a shared CDP.

An AI agent that can't see what the business actually knows has only generic signals to act on. Joule Work is SAP's answer: a workspace where a Joule Assistant takes a natural-language request and hands it to specialized Joule Agents that do the actual work—analyzing data, triggering actions, executing workflow steps. SAP says Joule Work grounds every response in real business context through the SAP Knowledge Graph, which connects business data, relationships and processes. An agent gateway enforces identity, access and policy controls at runtime, governing agent communications, tool use and human oversight.

The piece that turns this into more than a chat interface is the grounding. The assistant doesn't route requests blindly—it routes them with context: what the data actually says, how the business relationships work, who is asking. SAP's pitch is that this lets agents go from intent to outcome.

The same wiring in FactuaOS

FactuaOS runs this architecture for customer acquisition. FactuAlly is the orchestrator—the agent an operator talks to—and it directs nine specialist Allies, each owning one domain. The grounding layer is the Factua CDP, a single shared customer data platform that holds every attribute, engagement event and consent record written by every business in the portfolio. When a gap appears between what a channel spends and what it closes, the job goes to Throttle—the Ally that moves budget and bids toward audiences that convert. Throttle reads the CDP for real outcomes. That is the same mechanism SAP is selling: a specialist acting on a shared context layer, not on generic signals.

Between every Ally's output and the outside world sits Stickler, the compliance Ally. It checks consent records, scrubs suppression lists and enforces vertical advertising rules before anything goes live. Human approval is on by default; automation earns its way up. SAP calls the equivalent piece an agent gateway enforcing policy controls at runtime. The structure is the same: a policy layer governs what the agents do.

What it means across a portfolio

For a portfolio that runs media buying through Wizcomedia, legal lead generation, email, SMS and a wellness publisher under one operating system, every business writes to one shared CDP and reads from it. The spend, bids and cost per lead by audience that Wizcomedia writes to the CDP become records every other business can read back. That shared context layer is what the Allies read from.
